  2. I have seen success with toys like the Alphabet Abacus and the Stacking Wooden ring set mentioned above. Obviously they are for different age levels but both teach the child as they play which is extremely important as a parent (we want our kids to learn).

    At our house, we prefer to have good educational toys like these and others. Anything with good durability (eg. made of wood) and an element of using one’s brain or training motor skills. Toys like these not only last a long time because of durability, the benefit they give the child lasts a life time, and that’s a win win for all.
