Kids are born loving “Sesame Street.” Babies go gaga for Elmo, and the appeal of Kermit and friends endures for the toddler set and beyond. That’s why Somebody Come and Play: 45 Years of Learning on Sesame Street, on view now until January at Lincoln Center, is a must-see for both new and old fans of the groundbreaking show. It’s got life-sized Muppets, archival art and clips, and an off-the-hook play space. Kowabunga! (Double Kowabunga: It’s free!)

A collaboration between Sesame Workshop and the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, the exhibit fills the 3700-square-foot Donald and Mary Oenslager Gallery with over 250 items from “Sesame Street”‘s history. Day Trip With Kids – Visit Elmo, Abbey and Grover at Sesame Place®

My children love Sesame Street, so when I learned they were offering a discount, I had to share!  I love planning day trips, especially when I find a deal.  As I was speaking to a friend, she told me they were going to Sesame Place®,  which is an easy day trip from NYC.  Currently until 6/29(ends tomorrow), they are offering there Sesame Place Spring Savings, where you receive a $20.00 discount(weekdays only) on a single day admission.  You can only purchase the offer online.  This is a great deal, especially if you plan only to go once this summer.  So, in the spirit of fun and the heat wave, we are packing up the car and heading to Sesame Place.  If you go, we would love to hear about your experience!

I Love Super Grover 2.0, More Than My Kids!

Every morning I look forward to watching Sesame Streets superhero, Super Grover 2.0 with my girls.  My girls always rush me to get them dress, “hurry Mommy, so  YOU can see Super Grover!”  I asked my girls this morning if they knew why I loved Super Grover?  They said because he is always trying to help and I told them, “yes!” for the most part…  I love Super Grover because he never gives up, no matter the situation.  He is determined to find a solution.  It is so refreshing to see a character on television that is teaching children core values of determination and perseverance, LOVE IT.
